Apply for a Puppy — Clockwork Puppies

A few honest questions before we continue.

These aren't gates — they're how we get to know you. There are no wrong answers, only honest ones. Your home doesn't need to look like a Pinterest board; it needs to be ready for one of our puppies.

Pillar I — Crating. How do you feel about crate training?

I crate-train as a positive tool — short stretches, never as punishment, never long stretches. I'm open to crate training but haven't done it before — I'd want guidance. I don't plan to crate-train — my dog will have full home access from day one.

Pillar II — Heat & Exercise. French Bulldogs cannot tolerate exercise above 80°F. Indoor-only on hot days. How does that fit your lifestyle?

Easy — I have AC, indoor space, and I'm prepared to skip walks on hot days for the dog's safety. I can adjust — I might need to rethink summer routines but I understand the rule. That feels strict — I want a dog that can be active outdoors year-round.

Pillar III — Family Integration. A Frenchie is a companion dog. They need to be near their people. How much time will the dog spend alone in a typical day?

Less than 4 hours alone on most days — someone's home, or we use daycare/walkers when needed. 4-6 hours occasionally — most days have someone home or visiting. 8+ hours alone on workdays is the norm.

Pillar IV — Health Care. Frenchies need a brachy-experienced vet, regular checkups, and you may face $5K+ in emergency vet costs at some point in their life.

I have a brachy-experienced vet identified (or pet insurance) and am financially ready for emergencies. I'll find the right vet and look into pet insurance — I understand it's a real commitment. I'd handle vet care like any other dog and figure out emergencies if they happen.

Pillar V — Diet & Discipline. Premium food, no free-feeding, weight monitoring. Frenchies become obese easily, which compounds health issues.

I'm prepared to feed premium food on a measured schedule and monitor weight closely. I've owned dogs before — I'll follow your guidance on diet specifically for the breed. I prefer to free-feed or feed whatever's convenient.

Pillar VI — Safety. Frenchies cannot swim. No unsupervised pool/water access, period. Also — fenced outdoor space?

No water hazards / fenced outdoor space / I understand Frenchies can drown easily. There are some risks (pool/pond/etc) but I'll fully address them before pickup. Open pool or water access without supervision is part of our home setup.
